A Psalm of Redemption

Hail the God of creation
Hail the God of mercy
for His hands extend to the lowly
and the downtrodden
Who am I that He would cast His eyes upon me?

O Lord my God Your mercy is forever
for Whom shall I flee to when I am pursued by enemies?
Whom shall rescue me from those who are persecuting me?
Surely the Lord shall not abandon His chosen ones?

No, His mercy endures forever
and His love forever more
His hands outstretched to everyone to Whom all souls implore
the world is vast- a cave, a den of thieves
the children cry out to Him
and He delivers them all!

Mighty is His name
and glorious is His might
His name praised be forever
and ever
His hand extends to all
Who calls upon His name
Blessed be God
praised be His name
for all the nations shall know
He is the God of every nation...every man

I gaze upon His throne
from where mine soul is cast abyss
He held His mighty hand and delivered me from this
instead of giving me the punishment as I deserve
see, my hands were stained with sin...o how great was my sin?

But none is greater than Yahweh God...
His love overcame the numerous crimes I had committed
My hands were stained
I lay prostrate before Him my God
I was unworthy...shamed and filled with loathe....
but the Lord God Yahweh...He cast them away...His unfailing love covered me...
He called me by name ...
He clothed me with fine silk and perfumed me with things as fragrant as preserved fine wine!
He wore around my finger a ring of red ruby stone
and slayed the fattened calf ...and made my sins atoned!

O blessed be His name
for He is God of all
God of God
King of King
In Him alone...the Lord

He is the Lion of Judah
the King of all Whom He has called
in communion to Whom He has chosen
our names are written in the palm of His hand
He did not just die for just
a group of man...no...
He did for all ...for all
and they may know that He alone is Lord

Praise God of all creation
praise Him all you His people
Praise Him and exult His name
as high as the skies in Heaven
the cherub and the seraph all kneel in adoration
let our souls praise God on high
employ zest to praise the Lord...our God in Him alone we find
solace and comfort

For in His name all things dark
will shrivel and retreat
all evil shall perish and flee in great defeat
in Him the glory shines
O God; Father, Spirit, Son divine
Three in essence...and ...in One...in union ...also

Praise God the King of Kings
praise God for He alone is the Lord
for none is before Him and none shall go after Him
He alone is praised
and He alone is God

He alone Whose name called upon shall we be saved.

Empathy by Natural Selection?

The Theory of Evolution has its foundations in "Natural Selection".
This is the process also known as "Survival of the Fittest".

According to believers in the religion of Evolution,
all living things are the result of random mutations which produced a more "fit" creature
which was better adapted for survival permitting one kind to evolve into another.

Contrast this with what the Bible teaches.

It teaches us that God created us in His image.
Thus, as God is compassionate and loving, so are we.

Think about it, somewhere in our DNA, God has tucked into our very being
a desire to love others and to be loved.

We have empathy for those that hurt, and we want to make them feel better.

These emotions could only come from a supernatural being.

There is no evolutionary advantage to them.

If we are the product of random mutations

and we are simple slaves of our DNA, who's goal is to reproduce,
then why should emotion "evolve"?

The Bible justifies us as emotional, loving beings.

Evolution can not explain or justify it.
It is simply---Eat or be Eaten.
Reproduce that DNA or Die.

Who are You Living For?

I was listening to the song "Born Again" by Newsboys

Here is the first part of the song:

I found myself looking into the mirror
Knew I wasn't who I wanted to be
I was living life the way that I wanted
But my eyes reminded me I'm not free

Believed a lie so everything that I know
Says I gotta go, tired of going solo
But I'm never gonna go there again

This is what it is, this is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didn't wanna fall but I don't have to crawl
I met the one with two scarred hands

Giving Him the best of
Everything that's left of
The life inside this man
I've been born again

And I Realized that So Many of us are living our lives for ourselves.

Our Western Culture Tells us to be Independent:

Bow for No One
Be Your Own 'Man'
Depend on No One but Yourself
and
If it Feels Good--Do It

Living Life the way that WE want it

And that is why we smirk at those "bible thumping christians" who are fools for their "god"

But we are not happy.
We are seeking something, but we don't know what.

We keep looking in the mirror, and we know this isn't how it was meant to be.

There is an emptiness inside.

We try to fill that void

With Food

or Drugs

or Sex

We want some unconditional love--we keep seeking but never find

Even though it is right there, and has always been there with us all along.

Those of us who open our eyes and remind ourselves that we are not free
and allow the one with two scarred hands to love us
and give ourselves to him
and begin to live our life for him

we will be born again

and we will know joy

Ketchup VS The White Shirt

So already, just by the title,
you know how this one turns out!

You wear a white shirt.

You grab some fries.

You dip them in ketchup.

And

PLOP!

Yep! Ketchup lands right in the middle of the shirt!

Never fails.

Why is that?

I suggest that whatever we wear,
we are just as klutzy.

But that ketchup doesn't show up as well against a colorful shirt.

Sin is like that, when we measure our actions against God's will.

When we behave sinfully in a secular world,

we don't notice the stains we put on our souls.

But when we become Christians

and measure our actions against the purity of God's goodness

our sins glare at us

Like ketchup on a white shirt.

But unlike the ketchup stain that is nearly impossible to make clean.

God's grace is enough

to forgive us all our sins.

He washes our souls clean with the Blood of The Lamb,
His Son,

Our Lord, Jesus Christ

Will you accept His gift and be washed Clean?

15 Minutes

Heard this advice on a Christian Radio Program

Give 15 minutes a day

Every Day

15 minutes for God to talk to you.

15 minutes for you to talk to God

and

15 minutes for you to talk about God to someone else.

15 minutes for God to talk to you

can come in the form of reading the Bible and studying His Word
It can also be quiet moments
when you block out the world
and open your heart to Him

15 minutes for you to talk to God

in prayer, in song, in writing
just you and God

15 minutes for you to talk with someone else about God.

talk with family, friends, other Christians
and strengthen your faith, and theirs.

These are tough goals to reach in our busy lives.

I know I struggle with the 1st and last one....

but still, great advice, I know I will be a stronger, better Christian
when I achieve those goals.....
