I have this song by Sidewalk Prophets stuck in my head
It's Called: "You Love Me Anyway"
And the lyrics at the end haunt me:
"I am the man who yelled out from the crowd
For your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
I turned away with a smile on my face
with this sin in my heart tried to bury my grace
And then alone in the night I still called out for you so ashamed of my life
But you love me anyway"
Isn't this so true?
We have such wicked hearts.
We deny Jesus, we deny God
especially publicly.
Publicly we might use his name as a curse word.
We may even curse Him when we are angry or sad.
And we do what we know to be wrong when we are with our friends
But then when we are alone, we are ashamed.
And we call out for Him
And yet now matter what we've done.
No matter how hate filled we are.
He forgives
And
He loves us anyway.
Here is a great Video of the song:
The lyrics I referenced are at: 2:37
